Invisco was started by Kurt Shafer in 1978 as the INVIsible Screen COmpany after Kurt invented the first rollup window screen he had ever seen. Then a patent search in downtown Los Angeles revealed the first patent was in 1864. So much for that.
in 1995 Kurt asked Carl Sutter to create SnapNSend – the first webcam software to be sold.
In 1999 Kurt was asked by Gil Lugo at the United States Postal Service to supply his webcam software in computers for USPS construction sites. Gil wanted a solar system to power it. Kurt used 3 solar panels (about 750 watts) and several batteries to power the system at night.
